Athelas Secures $200M to Accelerate AI-Powered Healthcare Transformation

Today we are excited to share that Athelas, powered by Commure, has raised $200 million in growth funding from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund (CVF). The investment will help us meet surging demand for our full-stack AI platform among specialty clinics and multi-site group practices, which spans revenue cycle management (RCM), Ambient AI clinical workflows, and practice management solutions. Our portfolio of solutions include:

  • Revenue Cycle Management (RCM): From eligibility checks to payment posting, we simplify the entire billing process with AI, to help make health systems more efficient and profitable.
  • Ambient Documentation and Workflows: Real-time note generation, autonomous coding, and clinical guidance to reduce after-hours charting (plus clinician burnout) and increase documentation quality.
  • Practice Management OS: A cloud-based operating system with AI agents that unify patient scheduling, engagement, and task orchestration across fragmented EHRs.

How are we using the investment?

CVF backs fast-growing companies with proven, repeatable go-to-market models. Our annual recurring revenue has doubled three years in a row, and one of the largest ambient AI rollouts in the country is underway at HCA Healthcare. We will use the new capital to:

  • Faster AI Innovation. Expect a steady stream of upgrades to Ambient AI Scribe (hands-free clinical notes), AIR EHR, and our AI-powered RCM, delivering smoother documentation, cleaner workflows, and quicker reimbursements.
  • More Value, One Bundle. The new funding lets us keep adding AI-driven modules, so you can manage notes, billing, and patient engagement under an ever-expanding Athelas bundle.

Enhanced Customer Success. We’re expanding our success team and analytics tools to help your staff maximize feature adoption and uncover revenue opportunities – directly boosting your bottom line.
