SAN FRANCISCO, Mar 4th, 2024 – Athelas, Inc., and Commure, Inc., a leading healthcare technology company, announced today the acquihire of startup studio RoBhat Labs and its founder, Ash Bhat. Ash has joined to work on special projects.
During his six years at RoBhat Labs, Ash led the company with the mission of better informing the people. Founded in 2017, the lab has built products to grow: awareness of bias in news (Newsbot), awareness of bots on social media (Botcheck), the practice of thinking critically while browsing (Command Browser), and the practice of understanding the world objectively (Worldly). Over the six year journey, the company and its services have informed tens of millions of people and have been recognized by organizations like Wired, The New York Times, and CBS Evening News.
"I'm pumped to have Ash join the Athelas/Commure family," said Tanay Tandon, Athelas/Commure CEO and co-founder. "His journey from the early days of RoBhat Labs to now joining us at Athelas/Commure is a testament to his remarkable abilities as an engineer and a product innovator. Our friendship, built over ten years, has been a constant dialogue about the impact we want to create, particularly in the healthcare sector, which we're now turning into reality."
With the addition of Ash to the core team, Athelas/Commure is becoming home for talented entrepreneurs and engineers who want to do good for the world through health care. The acquihire comes at an inflection point for Athelas/Commure as it becomes a crucial piece of the health care infrastructure in the United States. Today, software from Athelas/Commure empowers 160,000 clinicians and staff across 500 care facilities to provide better care to their patients.
"I'm beyond excited to be joining Tanay on his mission of improving healthcare across America," said Ash. "Healthcare is an area of work where the energy we put in today has high leverage in terms of making the quality of all our lives better in the long run.
